Pineapple - not just for Pina Coladas!

Updated: Feb 25

As far as the party season goes, you can guarantee there will be pineapple in there somewhere. Whether it's on a cocktail stick with cheese, shaken up with Daiquiri, or being presented in a pretty plant pot to stop snoring (everyone's a joker!), the humble pineapple is very much a Super Fruit.

But wait! Surely we wouldn't add it to our skincare regime?

Believe it or not, pineapple is a skin care dream! It contains antioxidants which help ward off pollution and Bromelain which is a mixture of enzymes that help exfoliate dead skin cells, thus reducing the appearance of blackheads. Furthermore, it contains brightening vitamins C and E which are excellent for keeping your skin in tip-top condition. According to Elle.com, for those of us with spot-prone skin, pineapple is also a natural anti-inflammatory, so when unwanted spots do appear, the fruit will help reduce redness and swelling.

We offer the Flower Enzyme Peel (containing *Bromelain) here at Imogen's Laser Skin Clinic that is especially good for sensitive skin, or someone who is new to skin peels. It is a superficial exfoliation and will prepare your skin for any deeper GLO peels. The flower extracts are mild organic acids which gently stimulate and tone the skin while providing an antioxidant protection. If you have been following us on Instagram, you will have seen Ola Johnson is using us for her Flower Enzyme Peels. Ola has embarked on a skin care journey to soothe her hormonal skin and has been posting to her Stories, using recommended Glo Beauty skincare products in between.

We recommend this Peel every 14 days as it will usually take at least 4-6 superficial peel treatments before you begin to see improvements (unless you use home care products to boost your results). *Any person with a sensitivity to Bromelain (or pineapple) should not use this product.
