Soprano Titanium Laser Hair Removal
How does laser hair removal work?
Choosing a laser machine that will work best for your skin and hair type is vitally important to ensure your laser treatment is safe and effective. The Soprano Titanium uses laser technology of diode 810nm, Alex 755nm and Nd YAG 1064 wavelength with an advanced IN-MOTION™ method for virtually pain free hair removal.
The diode laser emits radiation at wavelengths of 810 and 940 nm in the near-infrared spectrum. Diode – 810nm is good for most skin types.
Alex – 755nm is best for lighter skin types, paler hair colours and fine hair.
ND: YAG 1064nm – The best option for darker skin types and darker haired patients.
Modern laser systems frequently use two wavelengths, and in the case of Soprano Titanium, three laser wavelengths are used. The more wavelengths covered in a single treatment will generally equate to a more effective result. This advanced technology can reduce hair growth by gently raising the temperature within the hair follicle (the laser is attracted to the pigment melanin of the hair), causing damage to the follicle without destroying or damaging any surrounding tissue.
The In Motion technology makes sure that no areas are missed when treating the specific area. The skin is cooled at the same time through the contact cooling.
The Soprano Titanium Laser treatment time is much quicker than other laser hair removal treatments due to its ability to cover a larger spot size. There will be a noticeable reduction in the number of hairs that grow back after your first session. However, to get the best results we typically recommend a minimum of six treatments to permanently reduce the number of re-growing hairs by more than 80%. This is dependent on the individual.
What is involved during the Soprano Titanium treatment?
Each client will first have an in-depth consultation, going over any medical history, explaining the treatment and desired results, pricing and a patch test on each area to be treated. 24 hours after the patch test, the first treatment can commence. Clients are required to come to their patch test appointment with hair on the areas that they would like to have treated. Their therapist will need to assess the hair to make sure it is suitable for the treatment. For all subsequent treatments, the therapist will require the client to shave each area thoroughly.
All Skin Types
Soprano Titanium is one of the few lasers that is safe to treat on all skin types. Soprano works on most hair types except blond, grey and red as there is less melanin in the hair shaft. The laser is attracted to this melanin.
Patch tests will need to be performed on each area.
Appearance of the skin after the treatment?
After the treatment, the skin may be slightly red. This does generally fade after a few hours but it can take between 24-48 hours to go down completely.
All heat treatments must be avoided after treatment for 48 hours.
Is the treatment painful?
The treatment is not painful. Clients will experience some warmth (similar to the sensation of a hot stone massage) and the treatment is made comfortable due to the contact cooling during the process.
When will I see the results?
It can take between 2-4 weeks for the hairs to shed.
During this time, you will start to notice a difference in hair growth, which will have slowed down and become finer. It is however still recommended to do a course of treatments to destroy the hair follicle completely.
Number of sessions required?
A minimum of eight treatments is recommended on body areas and a minimum of ten sessions on the face. This is however dependent on each individual client.
Maintenance treatments may be required after the course of treatments.
Treatment for facial areas are every 4-6 weeks and for body areas every 6-8 weeks.
